The deadline to apply to present at the
2026 MABA Summer Symposium is Friday, February 20!

About the symposium: Taking place July 14-16 in Albany, New York. This event will reprise its role as the premier biosolids event in the region with something for everyone – sharing the advancements in emerging treatment technologies, current best practices and case studies with practical lessons learned, from thickening and dewatering, to stabilization, through beneficial end use. MABA accepts abstracts to showcase your work to an audience from across the biosolids sector, offering an opportunity for registrants to gain knowledge and enhance their skills. Share your experiences and developments in biosolids management by submitting an abstract today!

Submit your abstracts for consideration in one of the following topics:

Whole Plant and Community Considerations	Research and Innovation
Decentralized Biosolids Systems and Treatment	Contaminants of Concern (PFAS, etc.)
Solids Separation (thickening and dewatering)	Case Studies and Lessons Learned
Digestion and Digestion Enhancements	Troubleshooting and Optimization
Thermal Processes (drying, incineration, pyrolysis, gasification, etc.) and Biochar	Regulatory and Other Program Drivers
Sidestream Treatment and Solids Recycle Streams	Environmental Justice
Resource and Energy Recovery	Public Outreach and Communications
Biosolids Land Application and Biosolids Markets	Economics and Project Delivery

Abstract Criteria: Abstracts shall be no longer than 1,000 words. One additional page permitted with tables and/or graphics. Prospective presenters are welcome to reference products as long as product references add to the educational value and are presented in a noncommercial fashion. Abstracts can be submitted via https://forms.gle/WQKKiznq8UTfp7Kx7 or you can send them to Mary Baker at [email protected], no later than February 20, 2026.

After Selection: The Programming Committee will review all submissions based on quality, relevance, impact, and originality. All submitters will be notified of their placement in the technical program in mid-March 2026. Speakers must provide headshot, brief biography (2-3 sentences), presentation title, and presentation summary (2-3 sentences) no later than March 31, 2026. Presenters are expected to register for the symposium and pay the appropriate registration fee. No travel or assistance funds are available for speakers.
