October 9 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
(Eastern Time Zone)
Please join NEWMOA for a webinar to learn about the varied definitions of what is a PFAS and an update on the larger variety of federal regulatory developments. Bring your questions!
Note: This webinar is presented for informational purposes. The views expressed do not necessarily reflect those of each of the NEWMOA-member states, and the strategies and technologies discussed should not be considered an endorsement by NEWMOA or its members.
Linda Gaines, US EPA will present To Be Or Not To Be A PFAS. As a general concept, many people know what a PFAS is, but do we all actually agree on what is and is not a PFAS? There are several different definitions of PFAS, and the number of chemicals considered to be PFAS can differ by thousands depending on what definition is used. The differences in PFAS definitions will be explained, and many examples will be given of chemicals that meet one definition but not another.
Dianne Phillips, Holland & Knight will present Buckle Your Seatbelts: 2024 Federal Regulatory Updates for PFAS. Dianne will provide an update and survey of federal regulatory developments involving PFAS including the alphabet soup of CERCLA, TSCA, RCRA, SDWA, NPDWR, TRI, CWA, NPDES, and CAA.
